As the subtitle says, it’s an ‘Anthology of Two Dozen Short Stories from Sunderland Supporters’ that covers a range of topics regarding your beloved Sunderland.

Stories that stood out for me were ‘I Don’t Know Why I Love You, But I Do’ by Andrew Smithson, ‘Reid Between The Lines’ by someone McFadden and the obvious ‘2-1…Again’ by Ian Bendelow. I haven’t actually read the last one but the title is good enough for me.

At times in the book the writers question their devotion to the club and whether it really is worth it. But even after witnessing the lows and the very lows the answer is always the same…of course it’s worth it.

Seeing as we are the greatest supporters in the world, this book couldn’t fail to live up to the high expectations of ALS’ first full length novel, the sell-out Sobs Story. What could be more entertaining and enjoyable than two-dozen accounts from your own brothers about the team you hold so close to your heart. If the pulling of the heartstrings hasn’t quite worked for you then you’re too much of a hard nut to crack and maybe supporting SAFC isn’t for you.
