Harry Potter returns to our consoles with the Order of the Phoenix, an EA – developed advernture game based on the movie and book, pretty obvious I suppose. But hey someone might have been asleep for the last God knows how many years.
Anyways back to the game, it is by far the most immersive journey to Hogwarts to date thanks to the realisation of a truly enormous, often - beautiful world that is wholly connected without any load times. The adventure itself is filled with characters and locations Potter fans will know and it features both original missions and objectives and cinematics that mirror those from the movie.
However I couldn’t call myself a games critic if I didn’t criticise so here it comes unfortunately. Controlling Harry through the world feels sluggish, especially on the PS2 and the game is loaded with fetch quests which may or may not put people off.
Back to the positives. The game has far more strengths than weaknesses so don’t be put off and I fully expect die-hard Potter fans to look past these ‘faults’ and embrace the accomplishments. If you love Harry Potter, you’ll love this game.
