This is a comprehensive review of the skills, achievements and statistics of all those who played in all four English divisions during the 2005-06 season. Players ranging from the Premiership to League Two have all been put under the magnifying glass and have had every bit of fact drained out of their football bodies.
At the same time, it also takes into account each player’s performances in the FA Cup, Carling (Mickey Mouse) Cup, Football League Trophy and European competitions (where applicable). Barry J. Hugman edited the book and it is the ideal companion for all lovers of the beautiful game.
If you’re stood in the pub tearing your hair out at what the Rochdale left-back’s date of birth is or how heavy Mark Viduka really is then have no fear because the PFA Footballer’s Who’s Who is here. Within seconds you can locate any statistic for any player that will either cost you a pint or win you one.
Maybe you are thinking why would I care about stupid statistics? Then fair enough you are obviously not as much into football as you claim to be, hang your head in shame and leave the room.
If you are still reading then you have obviously fell for my blackmailing tactic and congratulations you’re through to the next round of ‘Getting you to buy a book’. On a more serious note the book is deemed a vital tool for club managers, scouts and back-room staff as well as being the essential handbook for regular football followers at all levels.
The book is basically one of interest and curiosity. Even just browsing through it you spot a name you thought had either been banished from football (cough Titus Bramble) or simply left the country to purse getting paid shed loads for doing jack shit (cough Albert Luque).
It’s a perfect Christmas present for your Mum, Dad, Brother, Sister, (do you see where I’m going with this?) It’s a good book filled with facts and it prevents that frustration you normally get when you can’t think of something.
What more could anyone want in 480 pages? Happy Reading.
